We are a community minded Junior hockey team playing in the Metro Division of the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL) as a part of the Ottawa District Hockey Association (ODHA) and in turn Hockey Canada.

Our players are be the best amateur hockey players we can find from our community and the region. Our players commit to our program of continuous improvement both in hockey and community participation. In 2007/2008 we participated in the Osgoode Rideau Amateur Hockey Day as well as the Manotick Shiverfest. In 2008/2009 we participated in the Metcalfe Fair, Metcalfe RCMP Musical Ride, Manotick Shiverfest and many minor hockey practices. For 2009/2010 we are planning to expand our community program significantly so that many more can benefit from involvement with the Jets.

The Metcalfe Jets have a tradition of excellence on the ice and have played for the EOJBHL Championship ten times since the League was founded in 1967. They have won the League Championship in 1968 (as the Russell Jets ); in 1972 ( 4-1 in games against Gatineau Volants) ; in 1983 (against Spencerville Bruins); repeated in 1984 (against Kemptville 73's); in 1987 ( against Westport Rideaus); in 1995 ( 4-0 in games against Gananoque Islanders); and in 2004 (4-2 in games against Alexandria Glens). The Jets also played for the championship but lost in 1973 (2-4 in games against Gatineau Volants); in 1997 (3-4 in games against Kemptville 73's); and in 1998 (2-4 in games against Westport Rideaus). The Jets have also had the privilege of having greats like Larry Robinson, Mark Savard and Mark Frazer play with them in the past.

We maintain relationships with Junior "A" hockey clubs, a lot of our players are currently playing Junior "A" and more continue to aspire for that next level of competition. In 2007/2008 we had 7 players affiliated with junior A teams and two goalies called up as emergeny goalies. At the end of our 2007/2008 season 5 of our players were pretty much full time with Jr A teams. In 2008/2009 we had 6 players affiliated with Junior A teams and graduated 3 players to Jr A. We anticipate several more gradutes this coming season as well.

We establish and maintain relationships with US college recruiters and we have been able to facilitate College Hockey offers for 5 of our players in the last few years. This year we facilitated offers to many players from many other teams in the EOJBHL as well.
